Kisumu became the champion side of Western Kenyan (2009)

The standard of cricket in Nyanza Province is pretty good. A testimony to that was when the “Kisumu All-Stars" won the ”Woolmatt Cricket League" in 2009.
Before this Kisumu played its last high profile game against “The Pakistan International Airlines” decades back on 30th July 1964 at the Coronation Sports Ground, Kisumu.
The Woolmatt Cricket League is the biggest Cricket league in the Western Kenyan region.
In the final the Kisumu All-Stars defeated the Rift Valley Sports Club, (RVSA) the strongest cricket club in the Rift Valley Province .
The All-Stars scored more then a run a ball (274) from  their 40 over’s
The host bundled out for a below power 109.
