Kisumu Day High School & Kisumu Boys' High School are on “Cricket Kenya's” radar

“Cricket Kenya” understands that Kisumu has the potential to become the forth principal cricketing center in the country after Nairobi, Mombasa and Nakuru.
“Nyanza Cricket Association” and their stake holders are trying to identify the Clubs, organizations and educational Institutions which have the will and structure to play cricket.

The office bearers of “NCA” are working hard to bring everyone under one roof and establish a core cricket league which is recognized by the “CK”, They have been asked by the “CK” to maintain at least one cricket field solely for cricket. This is because wickets get chewed-up by the other sports that are played on the ground. All the other three core cricket centers have a formal league structure and grounds capable of hosting high profile cricket.

Kisumu Day High School and Kisumu Boys' High School are Institutions identified with the potential were a standard cricket ground can be setup, however there are some legal formalities that need to be put in place. A “memorandum of understanding” has to be signed between the Schools Trustees and stakeholders.

“Nyanza Cricket Association” has approached different organizations, to form a club namely Braeburn, Goan Institute, Aga khan sports center, Nyanza club, Cosmopolitan club, Simba ( Sikh Club ), and Oshwal community (Patels). All these organizations also need to fulfill some legal formalities, they need to register as a cricket club with a constitution with the Registrar of Societies.

Hopeful the paperwork for the grounds will be complete soon and organizations approached will register themselves as cricket clubs.

Again “Nyanza Cricket Association” have pushed the limits and done a commendable job
